At St Mary’s Catholic Primary, we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the safety and welfare of all our children.
Safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility; all staff, governors, volunteers and other adults working in, or on behalf of our school.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Mr Pomeroy, and our Deputy DSLs are Mrs Varnham, Mrs Dengate, Ms Padmore and Mrs Lapthorn. The governor with responsibility for safeguarding in our school is Mr Ndekwe.
All school staff undertake annual Safeguarding and Child Protection training, and receive regular weekly and termly updates. Our procedures are continually reviewed and evaluated, to ensure that they remain robust in keeping our children safe. Staff are trained to look out for sign of physical/emotional harm or neglect and are required to report these to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
Our children are made aware of the adults they can talk to if they have any concerns. We know how important it is to listen to our pupils and take seriously what they tell us.
If you are worried about a child, please contact us through the school office on 01634 855783 or email: office@stmarysrcp.medway.sch.uk
